FAQS

How Do I Know if I need Therepy?

Everyone can benefit from therapy! Whether it is simply a neutral listening ear, or support through some of life's challenging times, relationships, or a better understanding of patterns of behavior; Therapy is a process that can aid in moving you forward.

Do you have an attendance policy?

Yes, I do. I require 24 hour notice for cancellation of appointments. Anything less than that is considered a Late Cancellation/No Show.

I charge $80 for appointments that are Late Cancellations/No Shows unless you are experiencing an emergency.

If you have 3 missed appointments, it is at my discretion to discharge you from treatment.

How do I know that you're the right fit for me?

To determine if I'm a good fit for you notice what I specialize in such as trauma, anxiety, and mood and if that fits into what you are looking for. I am happy to talk with you more before we schedule too, because it is so important to find the right fit with your therapist! So reach out and schedule a free 15 minute phone consult to talk more.

Do you accept my insurance? What are your Fees?

Please see the list above for insurances accepted.

Private Pay rates: 1st Intake Session: $180

Following session rates are: 60 minutes sessions: $170 & 45 minutes sessions: $140.

Please reach out for specific pricing related to EMDR intensives as total cost vary depending on length of time and if participating in an intensive or retreat.

3 hour Intensives:$510.

6 hour intensives: $1020.

Please note all intensives scheduled require half of payment at time of scheduling the remainder of payment the first day of Intensive or Retreat.

What can I expect in the first session and following sessions?

Before we meet I will likely have you complete some paperwork in a confidential, online portal. In our first meeting, we will review this paperwork and clarify what you want to accomplish, how frequently we want to meet this usually takes about an hour. Our Following sessions we work to address the goals you made in the first session.

How do I pay my copays/deductible virtually? How do I see bills and balances? How do I log into our telehealth appointment? How do I complete pending documents?

Using your Confidential Client Portal: https://elyza-bertuzzi.clientsecure.me/

Do you have an office location?

Yes!  18 Lyman street, suite 208, Westboro, MA (Above staples and home goods). The entrance is located next to DCU bank labeled Julio Building.

Will my insurance pay for my EMDR Intensive or Retreat?

Due to a number of timing limitations put in place by insurance companies, I cannot bill insurance for EMDR intensives or retreats. I will provide you with a superbill (receipt) following completion of payment for possible reimbursement from insurance. I can bill for the  FIRST hour of the intensive IF i accept your insurance.

I do accept insurance for hourly EMDR therapy. See the above listing for insurances I accept.

What is the Good Faith Estimate (GFE) and how does that apply to your care?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute that bill. (The details of this bill and its application to mental health professionals in our state is still being determined.) For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Your Good Faith Estimate is $140 per 45 minutes session multiplied by the number of sessions that you schedule.

Example: If you schedule 12 sessions in one year, it will cost $140 x 12 = $1,680 for that year for private pay.

If you are using insurance, then your GFE will depend on your co-pay or co-insurance amount, your deductible, and your Out-Of-Pocket expenses.

  • There are no hidden or additional fees for sessions attended.

  • There may be costs associated with additional services requested outside of session, such as copying records or completing paperwork. These are explained in the Practice Policies that you are given at intake. However, if there are any additional services requested, the specific fees for those services will be discussed with you ahead of time.
