Before we meet I will likely have you complete some paperwork in a confidential, online portal. In our first meeting, we will review this paperwork and clarify what you want to accomplish, how frequently we want to meet this usually takes about an hour. Our Following sessions we work to address the goals you made in the first session.

Is EMDR just as effective virtually as it is in person?

Yes it is you can feel the same relief virtually with EMDR than you can in office. For some people there is still a preference for in office EMDR and that is ok your care is always about your preference so do what fits you.

What is the Good Faith Estimate (GFE) and how does that apply to your care?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute that bill. (The details of this bill and its application to mental health professionals in our state is still being determined.) For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Your Good Faith Estimate is $150 per 45 minutes session multiplied by the number of sessions that you schedule.

Example: If you schedule 12 sessions in one year, it will cost $150 x 12 = $1,800 for that year for private pay.

If you are using insurance, then your GFE will depend on your co-pay or co-insurance amount, your deductible, and your Out-Of-Pocket expenses.

  • There are no hidden or additional fees for sessions attended.

  • There may be costs associated with additional services requested outside of session, such as copying records or completing paperwork. These are explained in the Practice Policies that you are given at intake. However, if there are any additional services requested, the specific fees for those services will be discussed with you ahead of time.
